Magento / WordPress Integration WordPress Plugins

Unfortunately, WordPress Integration does not support every WordPress plugin. This is because the majority of plugins require a lot of work to be integrated. This article attempts to explain which plugins are integrated and how to figure it out.

When we refer to WordPress plugins, we usually split them into two groups: frontend plugins and admin plugins. This terminology is by no means the official terminology and is just used to help explain which plugins are supported by WordPress Integration.

WordPress Admin Plugins

WordPress Admin plugins are plugins that operate in the WordPress Admin and do not affect the frontend of your blog what so ever. An example of an Admin plugin would be a plugin that automatically tweets each time you write a post. This plugin would not have any affect on the frontend of your blog. All WordPress Admin plugins are fully supported by the extension and do not need to be manually integrated.

WordPress Frontend Plugins

WordPress frontend plugins are the opposite of WordPress Admin plugins in that they DO have an affect on the frontend of your WordPress blog. For example, a plugin that injects social icons into your blog templates changes the frontend of your blog. An SEO plugin that allows you to enter custom META information also affects the frontend of your blog and is considered to be a frontend plugin. These plugins have to be manually integrated by ourselves (or by you if you're feeling adventurous.
