Magento / WordPress Integration Integration Levels

There are two different levels of integration that Fishpig's WordPress Integration can function under. This section will explain each section and show you how to configure each one.

Semi-Integration

Semi-integration provides access to your WordPress information inside the Magento application, however does not automatically display this. This level of integration is for users who want to display a limited amount of WordPress information in Magento but still want WordPress to display the blog. A situation where semi-integration would be useful is where you have Magento and WordPress running different themes, but want to have a list of recent posts on your Magento homepage.

To set up semi-integration, simply select Semi-Integration from the Integration Level dropdown and press save.

Full-Integration

Full-Integration is the more popular level of integration offered by Fishpig's WordPress Integration. While using this method, the full display of the blog will be passed to Magento, meaning the blog will use your Magento theme.

The most popular reason for choosing this method is the time and cost savings it will generate. Instead of having to skin both Magento and WordPress when creating a site, you now only have to skin Magento and let WordPress use that skin. You then no longer have to maintain 2 separate skins.

To setup full integration, select Full-Integration from the Integration Level dropdown. This should show a new field labelled 'Blog Route'.
